Skinny?

Just had another visit to the gynae last Sat..... Baby's doing fine but the scan showed that he's not putting enough in his body.... Doc commented that the head size and leg length are European size... Hmm, think about it, he didn't measure them, how will he know??? In the end, my lucky wife got 4 days MC to rest at home, that's the beauty of being pregnant hor!!!!

So now, 4 days at home with my mum and the maid... not sure what kind of havoc will happen this week. Hopefully the house is peaceful while I'm away....

Till the next visit this Sat.... See Ya!!!

Superstition during pregnancy

Yah, the title says it all................... believe it or not!!!

We have our fair shares of superstition from my mum and friends, but are they fact or fiction? Truth or Coincidence? No one can tell... as the saying goes, be safe than be sorry. Therefore, these will always linger around and more will be added, because everyone will want a healthy child and a safe delivery to both mum and baby...

Hmm, what should I do to the 37" LCD that I just bought, the computer table and the sofa that will be coming soon.... Guess I have to wait till after baby's 1st month before anything can be done.... But what a waste right? So I'm going to change my TV (without mounting) and fix up the computer table, the mounting of the LCD TV and the delivery of the sofa will wait till after baby's 1st month. ;)

By the way, did anyone tell you that you should not move anything in the house? Then how are we supposed to prepare the baby's room? Tsk tsk.....

Dato S C Chew - Give it a miss

It's the most stuck up gynae I've come across..... And all because of the front desk...

I think the doc is ok, but the front desk, they sucks......

This is how it happens........

We were recommended by our good friend to her gynae (S C Chew). We knew it's not going to be cheap but decide to go ahead..... We were then referred to another doctor to look into some problem my wife is facing..... And finally she managed to conceive.... That's a happy news indeed!!! We were referred back to S C Chew as this doctor does not do delivery. OK, fine....

When we got back to S C Chew, we were very happy and knowing from others regarding "package" We decided to check with them.... Again and again, the gynae asked us to check with the front desk, apparently he leaves it to them..... That's where the problem started. We were told again and again that the package can only start after the blood test done from week 28 onwards..... OK we wait. Nearer that date, we checked with the front desk again and was told next visit, without any instruction.... Next visit, as Joc didn't fast, we were told that she can't do the blood test and was pushed again to the next visit..... Next visit came and we managed to get the blood test done, BUT................. we were told that the package can only start after the test result is out....... And we wait again..... Next visit, doc didn't even go thru the test result with us.... So I complain BIG time lah..... Know what, the front desk got mad that we complained and said that they entertained mainly foreigner (they earn more from them) and that there is a long long queue.... we can switch gynae if we want to...... @ 32 weeks, we do have a choice but for safety of the baby and mother, we decided to go with S C Chew...... And know what..... They mentioned that we pay now and the next visit onwards, the package will start..... that is I still have to pay for the last visit, although technically, we're on the package..... CRAP FULL OF CRAP...!!!!!!

We've decided not to recommend anyone to them and this is going to be the last time we will see them... They are so high-handed and proud that they have a long waiting list.....

Just to add on, they are also inflexible with the payment... only accept CASH!!!!! Once there's this family from Indonesian who got a refund from them, guess what, they were paid cheque.... As they are going back to Indonesian, they wanted at least a CASH Cheque so that they can immediately get the money and save the hassle of having to bank it in back in Indonesian and waiting for it to clear.... God knows how long that will take.....

So the next time you choose your gynae, do check carefully the details esp how the package works.... it's not cheap raising a child, and it's definitely not cheap during pregnancy as well!!!!

You make your own decision.......

Mad Mad Dad/Mum-to-be

Issac vs Gareth ???

It was fun the last few days thinking of a name for our little handsome prince.....

We were worried that the name will sound funny and together with my surname will make him a laughing stock in his life...... therefore we are so careful that the name doesn't sounds funny when u pronouce it in Hokkien, Teochew, Cantonese, Mandarin, etc...... eg... Lampard, Dan.....

Finally I chose Issac versus Jocelyn's Gareth, which she likes it very much...... Still I think that Issac is a nice name.... it means "Laughter" or "Laughing One"

As for Gareth, it means "Gentle"

So what do you think?

Guess I'll still stick with Issac :P

52 days to delivery...

52 days... how time flies.... remembered it was the very first scan months back when we realized that a new being is coming to this world. Now, we are patiently waiting.....

What to expect? Will he be naughty? Mischievous? Clever? Cute? BIG? small? Tall? Short? It's anyone's guess.... But at least he didn't gave Jocelyn too much problem inside her, except performing some somersault ;)

We had a busy weekend getting things for him. Were really lost when we were looking around on what to buy and what brand is better. Luckily our little angel, Joslyn, came to our help and we really got quite a lot of stuffs to begin with. Guess new parents will always face this problem...

We were also happy for our good friend, Melvin and Elaine, on having twins... While buying my baby's stuffs, we realized the cost of having a child, so what about 2? Guess they will manage...

Names, names names.... what should we call our little charming? Any suggestions?

The countdown starts...

Time flies!

Bb's 32 weeks old already. At most, another 8 weeks to go.
Kind of hard to believe. Time to start the shopping too!

This scan's kind of interesting.
Doc didn't give the pic though... Bb's mouth is opened. Seems to be yawning away or something. And the hands move quite a lot.
Had a hard time trying to capture a good photo-profile of him though. His hands are blocking his face! But, we finally did have a photo-profile of him.. His face look chubby! But his head-size is above average though his stomach shows he's a bit thin.
Again, Doc, gave the same advice. Rest more!

After we left, Mac was saying... I should've pre-empt Bb to pose for the photo... I went... Eerrmm... I kind of "talked" to him the nite b4. Asked him to wave & say "hello". But i guessed, i forgot the part of asking him to turn & pose for the photo..

Like real huh. Hehe...

My tummy's getting bigger. Always complain that the tummy's skin is tight. In fact, it always feel like it's going to "burst" after meals!
Mac's very happy with the tummy growth though. Each time he sees it grow, he give a silly smile... hee...

Just kenna nagged to go to bed. Zzzzzzz....

4th Sept 2007 (25 weeks)

Finally, here's the photo to Bb's scan...
Been busy, tired and lazy! hah!

Bb's 25 weeks now.

Btw, it's also Mac's birthday... See.. Bb did an unusual pose as Daddy's Bday present.. Hehe...
Wonder if I have been doing too much Yoga... Bb's also practicing!
Couldn't get a good photo of him. It's blocked by his legs :?

But... hmm... Doc says.. Bb is growing ok. But he 's thinner compared to last time. Asked me to rest more. Luckily didn't suggest me to eat more.. haha...
Then again, it's kind of tough trying to sleep with a weight permanently stuck on the tummy! Turning from side-to-side requires conscious effort. And... if I lie a bit too much onto the side of my tummy, Bb will remind me he's there! I get tickled or kicked.
